teologia do corpo, do amor e do sacramento.

Abstract: The paper intends to analyze the theology of Marriage and Family, from its
biblical roots until the magisterial teachings in the documents of the Church. The couple
who write, they recognize that the knowledge of this theology is important in order to cope
with the conjugal and familiar challenges. But they consider the biggest difficulty is to put
into practice, in the personal, conjugal and familiar life, at least the principal bases of this
theology. After emphasizing four points of the biblical theology of Marriage (its origin in
the creation, in Genesis; the joyous celebration of the final encounter with God, in the
wedding of the Lamb, in Apocalypse; the clash of marriage and sin, and the ransom of
its original beauty by Jesus Christ; the descriptions that fundament the sacramental sign
and the grace of marriage, in Jesus and in Paul), the authors detach important aspects of
John Paul II’s catechesis, with biblical-anthropological purport, centered in the theology
of body, love and sacrament. They retake quotations from Gaudium et Spes and from
Humanae Vitae, which they consider meaningful for the actualization of the Council’s
doctrine in our times.
