Não-retaliação, perdão, amor dos inimigos: três salutares desafios do Evangelho

Resumo

Resumo: No contexto da CF 2009, sobre Fraternidade e Segurança, emerge o
tema da Violência, que atenta conta a Segurança e que precisa de uma resposta.
O autor estuda a questão partindo do confronto entre duas passagens bíblicas:
a primeira, do Sermão da Montanha, Não resistais ao malvado (Mt 5,39) e a
segunda, do 1º livro dos Macabeus, Se alguém vier atacar-nos, nós o enfrentaremos
(1Mc 2,41). Após uma introdução, o autor examina os textos bíblicos
pertinentes, seguindo-se o seu comentário, no qual são analisados os conceitos
de justiça, amor dos inimigos, e não-retaliação. A conclusão, que para um cristão
não pode ser outra, é a decisão de pôr em prática a proposta de Jesus.

Abstract: Among the themes of CF 2009 concentrating on Fraternity and Safety,
belongs the problem of violence, which needs to be solved in the context of safety.
The author deals with the question beginning with the analysis of two biblical
passages: the first is taken from the Sermon on the Mount: “Do not set yourself
against the man who wrongs you” (Mt 5:39); the second, is taken from the OT:
“If anyone comes to fight against us on the sabbath, we will fight back” (1Mc
2:41). After the introduction, some other biblical texts pertaining to the subject
are being examined with special emphasis on the concepts of justice, love for
enemies, exempt of retaliation. The conclusion is specifically a Christian tenet,
which puts into practice the teaching of Jesus.
