Mulher, vítima de violência: o resgate da dignidade

Resumo

Resumo: A mulher, no contexto mundial, sempre foi considerada o ‘sexo frágil’
e relegada a segundo plano em muitas situações de caráter social. Na prática,
o que se observa é um forte sentimento de discriminação, de desrespeito a um
ser humano que deve receber tratamento isonômico no Estado Democrático
de Direito. Nesse campo, o nosso País deu um passo decisivo quando foi
sancionada a Lei n. 11340, de 07 de agosto de 2006, conhecida popularmente
como ‘Lei Maria da Penha’, em uma justa homenagem a uma mulher que ficou
paraplégica em conseqüência da violência doméstica.

Abstract: The woman, in the global context, was always considered the fragil
sex and relegated to the background in many social situations. Actually, what
is observed is a strong feeling of discrimination, of disrespect to a human being
that should receive an equal treatment by the Democratic State of Law. In this
field, our country has given a decisive step when it was sanctioned Law n. 11340,
in 07th August of 2006, also known as ‘Lei Maria da Penha’, in a fair tribute to a
woman who became paraplegic in consequence of domestic violence.
