“Missão” jovem, abrindo caminhos de esperança

Resumo: A juventude caminha e é caminho! Cada jovem, rapaz ou moça, do
campo ou da cidade, é portador de um enorme potencial, de uma criatividade
transformadora que precisa ser reconhecida. Este artigo quer ser um olhar
para a realidade juvenil brasileira, destacando a Boa Nova que tem sido a
opção da Igreja pelos jovens, assumida nas Conferências Episcopais Latino-
Americanas e manifestando um desejo profundo de que esta opção seja
reafirmada e reassumida com ainda mais vigor e ousadia pela V Conferência
de Aparecida. Os jovens que participam da Igreja procuram fazer a sua parte
e da melhor forma possível. No terceiro capítulo deste artigo podemos confirmar
isso com uma das tantas atividades evangelizadoras dos jovens, em Santa
Catarina, que foi a “Missão Jovem”, realizada no ano de 2005.

Abstract: Youth is a stage of life, in which young people are impelled by a zest
for life. As they become more conscious of their personality and assume their
responsibility, they yearn to play their part in social and cultural life, in urban
and rural areas where they live. This article attempts to shed some light on the
Brazilian social context with special emphasis on the penetrating impact of the
Good News in society through the Church’s option for youth, which has been
endorsed by the bishops at the Conferences of Latin America. It manifests a
deep desire that this option should be reasserted anew with more vigor and
boldness at the V. Conference in Aparecida. Young people show their
participation in the Church by an attempt as living witnesses to Christ among
their companions. The third chapter will offer a wide spectrum of apostolic
activities which youth groups have implemented in the “Missão Jovem” last
year in Santa Catarina.
