Arendt e Kant: banalidade do mal e mal radical

Resumo

Resumo: Hanna Arendt, ao tratar do problema do mal, o faz a partir de Kant e
ao mesmo tempo alarga a compreensão do conceito, entendendo-o para além
do egoísmo (amor de si). Depois de contrapor a posição dos dois autores, o
artigo reflete sobre o conceito de moralidade, incluindo a tradição judaico-cristã,
para retornar ao confronto entre o mal radical e a banalidade do mal.

Abstract: Hanna Arendt dealing with the problem of evil starts from the viewpoint
of Kant and at the same time enlarges the extent of the concept going beyond its
meaning as egotism. After confronting the tenets of both authors, the article delves
into the concept of morality including the Judaic-Christian tradition concentrating
subsequently on the confrontation of radical evil and the banality of evil.
