Abstract

censura.
Abstract: The article deals with the practice of Jesus and the first communities of the
Church in the early period of its history in which the Eucharist was not only meal
for nourishment of the body with bread and the spirit being nourished by the
memory of the divine Teacher, but surely it was also a source of belonging to
Him of those partaking in the Eucharist. In this sense the Eucharist satisfies the
“hunger for bread” and the “hunger for rightful belonging”, it leads to “furthering
justice and equal rights”, and is a source of “life in abundance”. Therefore it is
imperative to give modern expression to Jesus practice in his times through the
Eucharist so as to prevent that the celebration of the memorial in honor of
Christ might become occasion of scandal and consequently needs to be
censured as it happened in Corinth in the time of Saint Paul.
