Abstract: The Church is a community of faith integrating its members through
the sacrament of baptism. The faithful are inserted into the death of Christ and
are elevated spiritually to a new life. They are united to Christ as the Risen Lord
and nourished by his body and blood in the Holy Eucharist. Following the
example of Christ they are called to offer their life to the service to others in a
spirit of solidarity and engaged in a differentiated way in the performance of
duties while exercising analogously the role of priest, prophet, and king. The
Church is organized as the People of God that is endowed with many charisms.
It is to be noted that the laity have an important role in all Pastoral Activities, so
much so that every Christian has the function of ministry in order to witness to
the validity of eschatological truths. The ministry of the laity performing various
tasks in the Church nonetheless is not inferior or less radical in evangelical
authenticity as compared to other segments of the People of God. From this
point of view our Eucharistic celebrations should pursue the aim at being
inculturated, so as to give incentive to the spirit of adoration and human liberation
within the rite of thanksgiving to God for his action and guidance of the course
of history.
